Launch of ‘Suposhit Dadri’ Nutrition Project by under Shiv Nadar University – Community Connect Initiatives

 

Dadri – Under the auspices of Shiv Nadar University (SNIoE), Delhi, Community Connect Program, proudly launched the ‘Suposhit Dadri’ today. The event, held at the Community Health Center (CHC) in Dadri from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM, marks a significant step in tackling vitamin D, iron, and haemoglobin deficiencies among vulnerable groups, including adolescent girls, pregnant women, lactating mothers, and children across eight key villages in the Dadri block.

In collaboration with NGO Project Concern International (PCI), this community-centred initiative aims to ensure these essential micronutrients are accessible to all, promoting optimal growth and development. Key stakeholders and community health leaders, including Robin Sarkar (Director, Dadri Development Program), Prasenjit Sengupta (Program Head, Dadri Development Program), Dr Sanjeev Saraswat (Medical Superintendent, CHC Dadri), Manju Verma (CDPO, Dadri), and Dr Amrita Mishra (Director, PCI), graced the event. Other notable attendees included ASHA workers, Anganwadi workers, SNU Program team, CHC health team, local SHG members and Community Health Officers. Dr Sanjeev spoke about the importance of nutrition in daily life and also busted some myths in terms of common beliefs. Robin Sarkar described the scale of all initiatives under the SNU’s commitment and described the present program.

The ‘Suposhit Dadri’ project focuses on:

1. Improved Nutritional Health: Aiming for a significant reduction in micronutrient deficiencies

2. Enhanced Awareness: Increasing community knowledge about nutrition and health

3. Empowered Community: Strengthening local capacity to address nutritional needs 

The Shiv Nadar University – Community Connect Initiatives remains committed to the holistic development of the Dadri region through its multifaceted interventions in health, community sports, livelihood, skilling, nature conservation and social security. The launch of ‘Suposhit Dadri’ is a testament to SNU’s dedication to fostering a healthier community with the support of PCI and the ollaborative efforts of all .
