Pharmacy Institute of Noida Institute of Engineering and Technology Celebrated World Pharmacists Day 2020
Greater Noida(face warta)- Noida Institute of Engineering and Technology (Pharmacy Institute) celebrated World Pharmacists Day on the theme “Transforming Global Health” on 25th September 2020. The program was inaugurated by the welcome address of Dr. Avijit Mazumder, Director, NIET Pharmacy Institute who highlighted the various roles of Pharmacist ranging from the dispensing of drugs to development of newer molecules to combat various dreadful diseases. He emphasized that pharmacists have to play an important role in pharmacovigilance and patient counseling in the coming era to ensure drug safety. The pharmacists should guide the patients to avoid any drug -drug interaction or food drug interaction. Pharmacists should be ready to cope up with various technological advancements to prepare personalized medicines too in days to come.
The chief guest Prof. (Dr.) Sharad Wakode, DIPSAR explained the role of various Indian organizations like Serum Institute of India, in the fight against COVID-19. He also explored the role of clinical pharmacist in current pandemic and emphasized them to guide the physicians to impart quality treatment to the patients. He suggested the need of education towards the proper storage and handling of drugs. He also urged students to be updated about the profession which will be beneficial for them as well as for the society. Dr. Rupa Mazumder (Dean, NIET Pharmacy Institute) also explained the role of pharmacist in fighting against COVID-19. She also emphasized the importance of research and development work pharmacists are undertaking to save the nation against the current pandemic. The students participated in Essay writing and E-poster competitions with zeal and enthusiasm. Dr Sanjita Das delivered the vote of thanks to all the dignitaries.
